Who AM I
I am a Chinese boy and born in mainland China.
I am a Mission San Jose High School student.
I like taking pictures and play badminton,
My dream is that become a best photographer.
Story of me:
In the spring of 2013,I faced the most difficult challenges I have ever met. I left my hometown, came to study at the United States. When I was on the plane, I thought about what U.S. would be like, an unfamiliar place, a brand new environment, new school and friends, but most importantly, a new language. Too many unknowns and unfamiliar environment was making me nervous, I feel like I am facing one of the biggest obstacles and a turning point in my life.
When I got off the plane, I found that the language that I am most familiar with was gone. Instead, it was replaced by an unfamiliar dialect. Everyone around me was speaking the unfamiliar language and I felt very out of place. With my English skills, I cannot understand what others were saying, it was a big challenge. However, I did not backed out and return to my hometown. Instead, I found a way to overcome my fear and defeat the obstacle. I tried to use my translator to translate words that I don’t understand and try to find help whenever I can and need.
May 13th was my first at Mission San Jose High School. When I entered my new school, I was very nervous. The environment and the academic structures of the school are totally different then what we have in China and I was having a hard time adapting. However, after I met Hong and Shi Jin, I felt more comfortable here. They are very nice and enthusiastic people. They not only showed me around the school campus but also introduced me to many new friends. Soon I got used to the school, I am really happy that I found such two good friends.
Facing challenges can be a tough thing to do. If we are afraid of the challenges or obstacles that are in front of us, our mind will not be able to overcome the fear. When facing a big obstacle, try not to over think and use our heart to overcome it. Just like how I faced my obstacle of coming to the United States. I put my heart into overcoming the challenge. I believe I can do it and find my way here and have a great future around this unfamiliar environment. Not only did I achieve my goal but also found this environment once being unfamiliar, now is like a second home to me.
